They can make you look tired, depressed, or older than you are. Droopy or puffy eyelids can also be inherited from your parents and can occur at a relatively young age. Eyelid surgery removes the bagginess and pouching around the eyes and tightens the loose skin. This procedure is often combined with a forehead or eyebrow lift, both of which reduce forehead wrinkles and raise sagging eyebrows. Eyelid lifts can also be performed in combination with a facelift.

How Eyelid cosmetic surgery is done ...
At our Toronto practice, Cosmetic surgery of the eyelids can be done on the upper or lower lids, or both. Dr. David Naiberg will make incisions in the natural skin folds of the eyelids. Excess fat and skin are carefully removed. Scars are virtually unnoticeable after healing because of the location of the incisions. In most people, no external incisions are required for lower lid puffiness. Laser resurfacing of the eyelids is frequently combined with eyelid lift cosmetic surgery to further smooth and tighten the skin and reduce crow's feet.

What to expect after cosmetic eyelid surgery...
After an eyelid lift at our cosmetic surgery practice in Toronto, you’ll find that discomfort and bruising usually are mild and you will be up and around in a day or two. Light make-up can be used to cover any residual bruising. You may have some sensitivity to light, and watering of the eyes for a short period following surgery. Normal daily routines can usually resume within a week or so. After surgery, eyes have a fresher, less tired appearance. Patients who get an eyelid lift often get a forehead and brow lift at the same time.
