What it is ...

Aging can cause the lips to thin and flatten out. Fuller, more sensuous lips are now easily attainable. You don't have to be born with full lips to have them.

How it's done ...

One of several techniques may be used. Collagen or fat injections can be used to plump the lips. Alternatively, implantation of a soft biocompatible material such as Gore-tex will give a permanent, full, sensual, youthful appearance to the upper and/or lower lips. This material is placed beneath the lip through small incisions and acts as a filler to increase the red show and projection of the lip.

What to expect after surgery ...

The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. Bruising and swelling can last three to seven days. When healed, your lips will be soft to the touch and will feel normal. There will be no change in sensation.
